Bruce Lee, Witch Spells and Philosophy
Bear with me for a bit. I’ll try my best to tie in the witch spells, Bruce Lee philosophy trilogy for you. Though at first glance I’m sure you think I’ve lost it. Gone completely over the deep end. What can all these things possibly have in common?
I have to go back to when I was first introduced to Wicca and the Craft. A third degree high priestess was my teacher. Something I had become familiar with over the years. Being a student that is.You see I had also studied martial arts for a number of years, there again I was a student for most of my time.
What Do They Have In Common?
One of my heroes back then in the seventies was of course the small quiet guy from the Green Hornet TV show, the young actor Bruce Lee. He far outshone the main character in my eyes. Being of short stature my self he showed many what was possible through training and dedication. I proceeded on that path to learn as much as I could.
I had always had an interest in the occult and sorcerers, witches and the like. So I guess it was no surprise that I met up with a full fledged witch along my travels. There was no indication that she was craft till a few days after we met and conversation strolled into the field of the paranormal and all things unearthly so to speak. She then revealed the fact that yes she was a third degree high priestess and had been practicing from the age of 9. It was something passed down to her from her grandmother.
Little did I know what was in store for me from this point on. A wild ride is putting it mildly. We were well into the third or fourth week of our relationship before I even fully caught on to what she was doing.
I was not the most grounded individual at the time so the first step was to get me to that point. Grounded and becoming aware that is. I would visit every other day for tea and we would talk for hours, I was completely fascinated and enthralled with what she was explaining.
It was the necessary introduction to being aware of my surroundings and what was going on in general that she began to draw my attention to. Me, I was anxious to get to the witch spells and incantations and potions that I had read of over the years. This wasn’t to be for awhile.
I asked what form of the craft she used, I had learned there were several different schools in the Wiccan world of witchcraft. From Gardnerian to traditional. She asked me if I had ever heard of Bruce Lee and I laughed, oh yes I said. Well he developed a form of martial arts called Jeet kune Do. When he was asked how he came up with the style he told the interviewer that he experienced a lot of different styles and he just used what worked for him from each style, then came up with his own from that. That was his philosophy. and from what I learned hers as well.To use the best from the many to form a new style and that is what she had done.
What she had started teaching me was the beginning of what was to turn out to be the building of a foundation on which to build a new learning experience. One that took me into her world of witchcraft. So first I was to become once more, the eager student
